Práticas integrativas e complementares em saúde: interesse da comunidade acadêmica e os desafios do ensino médico

Abstract: Introduction: Traditional Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) encompass therapeutic resources of complex medical systems from different rationalities. This field practice has gained greater visibility in recent times, with the increase demand for health care that prioritizes a more comprehensive approach human beings, encouraging professionals themselves to seek better training. Objective: To evaluate interest, degree knowledge attitude students teachers course towards TCAM challenges their effective teaching. Method: is cross-sectional, descriptive study quantitative approach, which was carried out 214 individuals, 21 were 193 attending first twelfth semesters at education institution Recife-PE. An online survey used assess participants regarding learning sources level interest on this topic, as well Portuguese version Integrative Attitude Questionnaire (IMAQ). The data submitted statistical analysis (frequency percentage), using software R, 3.4.3. LibreOffice. Result: Among participants, 57.14% 35.42% aware Nacional Policy (PNPIC, Política de Práticas Integrativas e Complementares), 85.71% 91.7% considered be crucial Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Most teaching an important subject undergraduate (90.48% 89.58% students). best known practices yoga, phytotherapy TCM/acupuncture there learn yoga TCM/acupuncture. Conclusion: A large number have never had contact TCAM. However, most are willing recommend them patients family members about topic. Thus, it recommended studies performed topic can corroborate inclusion courses’ curriculum.
